I recommend this to anyone who has ever loved the Redwall Series by Brian Jacques because this fantasy world is inhabited similarly by animals with human characteristics and values, who fight for a better world and against the tyrants who try to rule it. And this is a good find also for those who want their stories to be unpredictable, intelligent and somewhat colorfully chaotic.
I really enjoyed this. There was a lot that happened, you got to see a lot of the characters. ... Becoming what they were destined to be. ... Like a few of them knew a lot more than what they were saying. The world building, the religion, the songs/poems everything was so amazingly done. You could tell the Author had sold part of his soul to put it all on paper. It was very complex and so well built.
Ayan himself is the real star here. I adore this little guy. He's the underdog and a total scamp. He disobeys, breaks the rules, makes terrible, rash decisions and is so lovable, so delightfully confident and devoted, that you are praying for him from the very first page.
What a beautiful story. The characters are unbelievably realistic and well thought out. The author must have spent enormous amount of time fleshing them out. The plot, no giveaways, is superb and keeps you wanting more with each page. I would love to see this book turned into a movie or Tv series. The possibilities would be endless. Fingers crossed that the authors imagination keeps moving forward and I look forward to many more books.
Growing up a stone’s throw away from Disneyland, Al Romero was fascinated by all things animation, and decided early in life to dedicate himself to the craft of telling stories through moving pictures. He received his B.f.A. From Pratt Institute in New York City, where he vigorously studied drawing, illustration, multi-media, and even studied animation before there was even an official animation department.
After brief and turbulent stint as a retailer, and a less than inspiring year as a high-school art teacher, Al took a chance and accepted a friend's offer to work an over-night post production job on adult-oriented programming. From there, he worked his way onto premiere television shows such as “Key & Peele,” “Workaholics,” "Street Outlaws," and "Ghost Hunters." He's even edited the series "H8ters."
